Jasper was right! New HD bolts are chrome on the 4 that are on the outside. They'll look much better! New studs have red locktite on them already too.
For all the "USA" crap I hear about harley, I'm finding out probably 1/2 the bike is Japanese.... look at the box in the picture. At least it's not "made in china". I'm okay with it. I've had bikes from all the major motorcycle building countries except UK so far.
When I built my engine I used S&S headbolts, their chrome. Also used S&S cylinder studs. Far as I know they are the best.
By the way stainless is weak metal unless you get tempered stainless... Go with S&S.
