Default Oil flush?

I saw something somewhere where this guy said the way to change oil on a big twin (he happened to have an FXRS very similar to mine) was to drain and refill the tank, then pull the filter and then put an oil pan under the filter mount while you run the engine for a minute or two. The idea was to allow the oil pump to flush out the rest of the used oil from the system.

Is this worth doing? Actually, I just did it and I wonder if its a waste of time or not.

Waste of time. 50+ years of not doing it proves it to me.

Only the oil companies benefit.

Is it necessary?? No.
If it makes you feel better then do it.

142,000 miles on my motor and still running original pistons and rings. (Haven't split the cases yet either.) Never flushed the oil during a change and never changed oil and filter before 5,000 mile intervals. (So No.)

Waste of money & time. But, it's your bike, time & money. Just don't forget to shut off the engine.

99,000 miles on my motor. Never "flushed" it, but I change the oil and filter every 2,500 miles.

Don't do what?
I don't see any harm in flushing the oil if that is what you want to do.
