CVO baffles

CVO baffles
I picked up a set of cvo muffs, retuned and they are a bit more restrictive and definitely quieter than the stock muffs with the FM head pipe. I am going to order the 2" Fullsac baffles. The question I have is are the screens really necessary? For those of you that have done the conversion, did you use the screens or not and how did it affect the sound with and without. Thanks

Thats strange, I put a set on with the stock de catted header and they are louder than my stock mufflers. I'm going to put the 2" fullsac baffles and screens in though. I talked to fullsac and they said the screens are not necessary but removing some of the insulation helps with sound quality and power.

Thanks, the set I bought had minimal miles on them, less than 50. They have gotten a little louder, but I am not convinced that they perform any better than the stockers. At one point I cut 1.75 inches off the end of the baffle sticking out, it added more sound, but it made a horrible echo sound with the end caps. Went to a local muffler shop made up a couple of extensions to add the length back.

I did the sleeves with 2" baffles. Did it all together so can't give you a comparison but am very happy with the sound. No drone, not too loud and much deeper than before. I put the stock cvo pipes on before the mod and measured the noise level with a db meter. The cvo pipes were 1 full db quieter than my stock touring pipes at idle, with a stock decatted head pipe.

I'm running CVO mufflers with Fullsac 2" baffles. I installed them just like they came out of the box. No screens, no insulating material. That was3 years ago. They are deep and have a medium loudness. No popping or back fire at all. I've had them on both a stock cat pipe and Steve's dx pipe. His baffles are the best bang for the buck. The bike is tuned with a TTS and runs really good. Steve's map no dyno time.
