Default Exhaust issues

so tonight I finished installing my new Cobra Pro Pipe HP 2-1. I stupidly misread the torque specs and tightened all four flange bolts to 15 ftlbs when I realized I screwed up I backed them off the re torqued them at the specified 120 inch lbs. shortly after starting it I got a loud pop from the front header my question is did I ruin the exhaust gaskets by over tightening or what should I do???

You probably didn't hurt the gasket but you might have jacked up one of the head-bolts. 15 ft/lbs=180 in/lbs. so you may have stretched the head bolt beyond it's tensile capability and then it snapped when you went to re-torque it. Good luck with what you find.

Every thing seemed intact I loosened all of the nuts. Nothing popped when I retorqued it, it was after I had started it and revved it up. Would an exhaust leak at the head sound like a loud pop? I'm going to remove the system in the morning and double check anyways. Thanks for the info more is always welcome.

An exhaust leak will sound like a tic.

If you have a leak it will repeat at engine speed, unlikely to do it just once. Don't do anything without running the engine again, listening closely to what it does. You may be just fine.
