I have V&H high output mufflers on my decatted factory headers and would like to get a little more sound. Has anyone with these mufflers removed any of the fiberglass packing and have opinions?

 

No experience with those mufflers in particular, but I have no doubt that removing the packing will make them louder.
IMO, if you want a better, deeper sound ditch the baffles altogether and install a set of DK Customs Thunder torque inserts.

 

You can do just as nevil suggested or if you have just recently installed the HO's on the bike, wait just a little while until they burn themselves in after a few thousand miles. They'll get noticeably louder on their own. Mine did.
