Default Black Gloss or Semi-Gloss Exhaust Pipes

I’m waiting on delivery for a 2018 CVO Ultra Limited in Burgundy Cherry. I immediately want to change the pipes. I’d like to put black semi gloss or gloss pipes on the bike to match the forks and bars. Plus I think just chrome on the power plant would look awesome. Any ideas?? It seems no manufacturer makes black pipes that aren’t satin or matte. I’ve seen some paint options, but I don’t nownhow good that will look. I’m looking at V/H X pipe. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks.

Can you get the ceramic coating in gloss? Will it hold up to the heat and not fade?

The gloss coating, no matter what kind it is, is going to become dull with repeated heat cycles. It may not happen overnight but it will happen.

agreed, time is not a friend especially combined with heat cycles. i have paint but the only + is that you can touch up. do not expect it to cover chrome, so ceramic is a good choice.

I wish the big manufacturers would make a black gloss pipe. Do you think a ceramic coating on the heat shields and on the muffler would hold up? I feel my dream of black gloss pipes slipping away...

Not true..a good high temp powder will be perfectly fine.

For the first few heat cycles you'll see a white haze appear, almost like a powder but it wipes right off. After that initial break in they will be like a normal exhaust.

I have powder coated two of my exhaust now in gloss black without issue.

Currently running a Freedom Performance 2-1 that's been done in gloss black, the heat shields and the end muffler portion, coming up on my second season.

The pipes I took off were Vance and Hines Side Shots, again the heat shields done in gloss black and I ran them for 3 seasons without issue. I average about 10,000 kms a season. They are on a buddies bike now and they are still nice and shiny so that's about 4 years worth of riding without any fade.
