Default Extreme heat?

Hey guys,
New somewhat-mechanically inclined Roadglide owner here. Just bought a 2019 with 1500 miles from a guy in Idaho. The bike mechanically was stock but I just installed V&H 4.5" high output slip ons to the stock head pipes, installed a V02 Air cleaner and flashed a pre loaded map from the FP3. I was not in love with the tune, so I jumped in with both feet and ran an autotune for about 3 rides, 45 ish minutes each. During the 3rd auto tune ride, I got on the interstate and was hitting some higher speeds (80-85 mph) for about 10 minutes. It was dark outside and when I looked down at my right foot, I noticed the pipe was glowing bright red from heat. I have never seen this on my 2013 ST Deluxe, so I am wondering if this is an autotune thing while the bike is not running well, or are these temps normal for a 114?. I checked the engine temp on the FP3 and it read 411 degrees which seems crazy high to me.

Also, I am still not in love with the low end torque that this new map is providing, any FP3 info or mod recommends to increase that? I may do cam work down the road, but for now I just want to maximize the stage 1, if possible.

Thanks in advance for your input.

-Jess

I think you’ve got a tuning problem. Riding the bike at highway speeds at night should give you plenty of airflow to keep this from happening.

That temp is way to high , I would be calling V&H and see what they have to say , possibly a different map is needed . Also , you shouldn't be doing an auto tune until you've ran at least 2 tanks of fuel first , at least that's what they've told me .

I would do what he says and give them a call. Usually very helpful in my experiences in the past.

How can something so crazy happen after such a simple upgrade and map selection?

Why were you not happy with the FP3? You might consider going back to to it and do the night time ride again.
