Screamin' Eagle slip-ons
Can the newer EPA friendlier Screamin' Eagle Street Performance slip-on mufflers be disassembled in order to modify the exsisting restrictive baffle for better Harley music and then reinstalled ? I know that they have the tamper-proof torx screws or bolts and look to be a pain to work on.
If anyone has successfully attempted this, could you share your experiences. Thanks.

RE: Screamin' Eagle slip-ons
Hey Fourspeed,
I just posted a thread asking the same question. Should have searched for a similar post. I like the new SE I's but still cannot hear the bike unless I'm riding next to a semi or a wall or some other object that bounces back the sound. I removed the anti tamper torx drive fasteners and repaces them with #10-24 hex head screws and lock nuts. I was not able to remove the core though. I was afraid to apply too much force and risk damage to the pipes. Anyone have any info on removeing the core and possible mod's please let us know.
I will check back to this thread for any updates. If you learn anything regarding these muffs please send me a PM.

RE: Screamin' Eagle slip-ons
I pulled the baffles from the SE II's this past weekend. These SE II's are part number 66121-07.
They came from the SE 110 Big Bore Kit. The baffles remove in the same manner as the others in the posted threads. However, the catalytic element is a honeycomb similar to what is found in automotive exhasut. They were wrapped with glass as the others and this was removed and the baffles re-installed. The increase in sound is marginal and the performance seems to be intact.
I think this week I will pull the baffles again and openup the holes running axially down the baffle chamber to see what difference this makes. Then when I'm done screwing around I'll cut loose with some money and just buy pipes that sound and perform the way I want.

RE: Screamin' Eagle slip-ons
I used to have the SE's before I switched to Rush 2.0's. I modified my Se's by using a very long drill bit to open the tiny slot in the front center of the baffles. This added a bit more sound but it still was not enough for me. I switched to the Rushes and had my bike retuned and gained allot more HP an TQ SE's 69 hp 79 tq. Rush 76hp 87 tq
