Default O2 or no O2 sensor

I have a '00 Road King. I'm looking at getting the V&H true dual headers with Thunderheader slip ons. I know the difference between the headers for my year RK and the 07-08 is the hole for the 02 sensor. Down the road I want to add a new AC and a PCIII. Is there a need/advantage to getting the headers with the 02 sensor hole? My understanding is that the 07-08 pipes will fit a 00 but not vice versaand that there is a screw you can get to cover the hole but are there any upgrades down the road that would require the sensor hole?

Thanks,

Think I found the answer to my question after a bunch of searching and reading through threads. It looks like if you have an 07-08 then you end up blocking the 02 sensors with the PCIII anyway so I don't really see any advantage to getting that version of the headers. If someone can confirm or correct me then I would appreciate it.

I wish I could confirm whether or not V&H True Duals from an '04 would fit my '07. Found a set, like new WITH O2 bungs welded in, for $150.00.

If the '00 Road King has no sensors, there is no advantage in putting on headers with sensors or holes to put sensors in. The reason: there is no computer installed on the motorcycle that uses the sensor-signal for injection-management. If you find headers with the holes, and you like them, just cover the holes, problem solved.
A set '04 with sensors welded on will do fine on a '07, but rust on and around the welding surface will give you some trouble. You probably also will have to change the mounting system at the rear-end.

I just installed a set V&amp\\;H true duals for a customer&nbsp\\;for an 08 bagger to a 2001 bagger and pluged the holes with 18x1.50 oil drain plug for 1.99 each.auto zone. worked great. You will need the bracket for the starter and the spacers for the floor board on right hand side. to make the rear exhaust pipe fit right. I hope this helps.
