Fuel Light

Fuel Light
I own a 2008 Dyna Low Rider.
It seems when I get to 125 miles on a tank of gas, my fuel light comes on, even though I should have about 100 miles left on the tank of gas.
I filled up the other day and noticed my gas gauge showed 3/4 full, when it was completely full.
Do any of you experience this, or is there a way to adjust my gas gauge?
Also, I did view some of the 300 prior posts on this topic, but all I could really gather was that the gas gauge doesn't work properly.
Thanks in advance for any help.

RE: Fuel Light
I guess you have figured out that the fuel gauge does not work all too well?
Mine (on a 5-gallon tank on an 07) will show full when full, nominally 140 miles to showing 1/2 tank, and typically empty when the light comes on a 175 or so.
If I thought it would be worth the trouble (and it may be some time during the middle of the next winter) I would drain the tank, pull the float assembly and tweak it until it read 1/2 with 2-1/2 gallons measured into the tank. That would have to be the best it could do. I am not sure it would be time well-spent, however.
Whatever happens in that regard, I have simply reset the trip meter at every fill-up and dutifully kept an eye on it until the next one.
