I've got a dealer who is really working hard to make me happy. Bought an '09 Dyna Superglide Custom and borrowed a Fat Boy when the Dyna was in for service. The Fat Boy had Rush pipes and they were great!

I said " I want that". Well the dealer suggested S&S. We tried that and my head almost exploded. Too Loud. Next we tried Screamin Eagle. Louder than stock put not by much. Have to punch it in the stomach to make "The Sound". They were at the other end of the scale. I feel like F***ing Goldilocks! "No! Those pipes are too hot! And those are too cold..."

Dealer says "Just say it and I'll order Rush..."

Thats the next step but I've been trolling like crazy and can't find anyone who is runing Rush with no baffle. I've seen quit a few comments about how Rush with 1.75 baffle is similar to SE and how the 2.0 is louder but no comments on how Rush is without the baffle?

I'd like to say "Rush with 2.25" But if that is slightly louder than SE I'm wasting my time. I want "The Sound" without necessarily breaking off my eardrums or wearing earplugs.

Anybody can give me an idea of what the Rush without baffles are like?
Compared to S&S?

Like any other pipe without baffles. Loud. 1.75 is a good baffle with Rush.

 

Yeah, but isn't the 1.75 just about the same as the SE pipes?

 

I just replaced my 2.0's with 1.5's and no more popping on decel, and I got my low end grunt back. The 2.0's were too loud for me but I've never heard the SE pipes. Most say the 2.0's sound the best and they do have that really deep bitchen sound.

 

rush 2.0's are plenty loud.Anything louder and you might get cops attention.I would guess the 1.5's are more like the screaning eagles.Order the rush 2.0's and you can always change the baffles up or down for little cost.

 

I had both 1.75's and 2.25's, and the bigger ones were quite loud, a lot louder than SE's ever thought of being. When I went to the smaller baffle, I got more low end. Still nice and throaty. Open pipes with no baffle will cause a loss in power no doubt.

 

I ordered the Rush 2.25's and was told I should go with the 2.0 so I ordered a set of the baffles. Now I just have to wait to get home to pick up the bike and put them on. I can't wait!

 

My buddy has the 2.0 baffles in his, and have to say they sound pretty good! The bigger the baffle, the louder they are. Check their website for videos of a fxdc with all the baffles installed. http://www.epiflex.com/dyna.html.

 

I ordered the 2.25's because they sound deeper, but if they're too loud I'll just change them out with the 2.0 baffles

 

What's a good sounding pipe without spending a lot of $$$$?
