Exhaust note
I'm sure I'm not alone. I have a set of Vance and Hines Basic slip-ons. I am sick of the loud tinty sound that comes from them. I have repacked the baffles and it works for awhile but the packing burns out and I'm back at where I started, loud tin can bright metallic sound. After about a hundered miles of this my ears are wore out. Any suggestions on how to keep the packing in? Or should I go with another muffler. I had my eye on a set of Screaming Eagle Slip-ons (Part number 64924-99). These look cool but I don't want to end up with the same problem.

RE: Exhaust note
I am running Kerker slip-on's and have repacked them twice already and am waiting for the local dirt bike shop to get more packing to do it again for the third time in 5 years. BUT when I order it this time he askes me if its for 2-stroke or 4- stroke [sm=smiley25.gif] so I ask whats the dif? he says the 4-stroke stuff is denser and doesn't blow out as easily. Might be something to check out.
