The local Harley shop has me install the longer press plugs and weld almost every crank that they install. Yes, we agree that if your not going past 120 torque and don't PP the engine leave the crank alone. These cranks can and are rebuilt after being welded. Have taken many of these back apart after removing the weld with no issues.
