Default Mikuni Carb/enricher cable - Explain compatability!

Ok, so my enricher **** won't stay open; it slides back in and I have to hold it out. Tried adjusting the friction ****, no dice. I have learned this is a common problem and about a $15 fix from the dealer....However....I have the stock CV carb on my TC88 but plan on getting a Mikuni HSR42 in the near future. I see Mikuni sells a nicer choke cable with metal instead of plastic adjusting and threads.

Can I buy the mikuni choke cable and make it work on my CV carb for now and then keep it when I go to the HSR42??

I have read and understand that certain parts from the stock HD enricher cable need to be swapped over to the Mikuni part to make it work.

Please enlighten me!!

Yes. If you switch to the mikuni cable you have to swap the HD plunger to the Mikuni one when you change the carb from HD to Mikuni.
