keihin carb question
I'm getting fuel running from carb overflow on my '78 FLH 74ci shovel
keihin carb. Other bike has S&S super G shorty, so I know that carb pretty well. This one not so much.
I'm assuming I've got a float/fuel valve issue.
Can I drop the bowl and clean this out, or do I need to remove the entire carb to get to it, thanks for helping.

I had a 74 shovel for many years. IMHO if the carb needs attention, unless you know it was overhauled recently, that is what I would do. Buy an overhaul kit, take it off and service it. It will thank you down the road!
Alternatively swap it for something you know better, like an S&S. I have a G on my 107, which sounds too big for your 74, so an E might be more suitable.

Watch out what kit you get as many are nothing but junk! I know this from experience. Some of the kits even the rubber on the needle with swell up. Been many a year since I built one so I do not know what kind of kits are out there. I recommend trying to get a James kit as they use to be good.
