The lifter we reach for, so we can sleep soundly knowing our clients can enjoy their motorcycle are those manufactured by S&S.
Might not be the least expensive, but the cost is long forgotten when the quality is long lasting.

Not to hijack, but what is the benefit to different lifters? In other words, 2013 103, almost 5000 miles : when I change cams would it benefit to change lifters and why?

Hey Scott, which lifters from S&S in particular do you recommend?

2013's have -C lifters. There have been reports of problems with these lifters. They are made in Mexaco and there are many reports of failures before 10,000 miles.

I would replace them with a good quality aftermarket lifter. I like Gaterman 1023's. High quality lifters at a reasonable price. S&S also makes quality lifters, but a bit more pricy.

I got the Premium High Performance w/o HL2T limited travel. The main benefit of the limited travel kit is to improve starting for engines not equipped with S&S Easy Start Cams, but I'm going with there 585 regular cams and compression reliefs installed on my heads, so no need for this setup on my S&S 106 build. Got these on eBay brand new for $240 shipped.

We have both the S&S standard and premium lifters.
More times than not, the premiums are what get used.

Not taking exception to any previous posts but in stock motors, I have had good results with the CompCams VThunder lifters. IIRC the 850 is the standard and 875 is travel limited but I could have those backwards. Very reasonable, about $60 to your door.
