Default 2006 Dyna engine build

Hello all, First and foremost thank you for taking the time to read my thread. I have my 2006 Dyna completely apart and am doing a winter build. I have a mechanical backround (cars) Hotrods etc. And after helping a friend do a 103 kit and cams have decided I would also like to do a build on the 06 88, A Bastard year from what I understand, I have called and spoke to the highly recommended engine builders (Most Extremely nice and forthcoming with information). And I Guess I am on a tighter budget than most, I get the feeling most people call said guys and tell them what they want and wait for the bill in the mail. I on the other hand prefer to save myself money and utilize my brain and skills with the understanding that if it goes boom the only person I can point the finger at is myself. And I am ok with that. So here lies the question I would like to build this bike to make good reliable power but I don't know where to draw the line some people say I need l a manifold some injectors some roller rockers and some a billet cam plate. Sometimes I feel like I am having the parts book thrown at me. So here is my ideas fir the build pointers would be appreciated. I already have the power vision with the autotune pro kit and am running Vance & Hines straight shots

option 1
Put the engine back together stock and ride the **** out of it I had the jugs and heads powder coated, but didn't pay attention to what pistons came out of which jugs. I know its bad shop practice, flame me if you want but I didn't know it was going to cost me 4k to build a decent motor and also is it ok to put the stock pistons in the jugs after they have been powder coated (possible cylinder distortion from the heat)

option 2
98 bb kit Cp pistons (compression Ratio?)
Have SE 255 cams available for very cheap (maybe free)
Stock valve train

option 3
98 Bb kit Cp Pistons
Se 204 or 211 cams
cometic .030 gaskets
would these cams be worth headwork and also will I need compression releases

option 4
98 bb kit with Cp pistons 10.25:1 or 10.5:1 ?
585 cams
big boys head work
cometic 030 gaskets

Are Adjustable pushrods, Lifters etc. Necessary and what would I get from going to 4.9 gm injectors and and intake another (1000$)

Thank you again for your time

98" kit
1.900/1.615 headwork (set @ 10.0-1)
S&S .570 cams
this is a nice, mild build, that will give 100+/110+ and have stock like reliability

I have just started my build (you can follow in the Dyna area) and have spent the last year planning all the things you are talking about. It is kinda a game of dominoes - if I do this then I should do that, but if I do that then I have to do this too......

Pretty much need to decide how much you can spend then plan accordingly. You seem to think 4k is too much, but you will do the install yourself, so maybe 3k OK?

I think the Big Bore, headwork, and moderate cams would be doable. I would hold off on a new throttle body and injectors, would be nice but you got to stop somewhere - right?

Recommend adjustable pushrods, new lifters, skip roller rocker. There are some really affordable lifters to be had, just do some "Searching". Spend some time on cams - I think this choice is extremely important and needs to match your riding style - there are a lot of great cams out there besides SE.

Option 4 can really rip it, if the heads work well, and the compression is where that cam needs it to be.
You'd want a head that is running at least 160-165 cfm @ 10" @ .600" lift for the potential of that to be exposed, if not, I'd suggest the use of a different cam.
Pushrods?
Depends on how much the head is cut to establish the compression needs, but the base circle of that S&S cam would/does allow the use of OEM pushrods, on a basically un-cut head.
Throttle body, such as an HPI 51 mm(manifold I.D. would yet to be determined) or even a 55(which we have used on our HO 98" combo's) would allow the mid-upper rpm range power to really turn up, ONLY IF, the heads are up to the task.

I'm going to just put it together and run it stick until I can afford to build it like I want

No sense in doing it twice.
