You need to pay-to-play to enter the POD now.

...ensures that only like minded folk get to espouse their point of view. Amazing. Just over in that part and TinCupChalice is promoting shooting unarmed men with sllenced 22s (in order to stop the migration from Mexico) and talking about sucking chest wounds. My gut feel (as a Viet Nam vet) is that he like many (including Surfnorthwest) have never ever put bullets down Broadway. Just keyboard commandos is all. But when it all goes to Hell they do make great backstops and save some energy from filling sandbags!

Having said that i am a bit surprised that this forum would permit this type of restricted commentary. Guess true freedom of thought and free speech does not really apply here.

And Mods I understand this thread may be "locked" because it is leaning "political" but I do not think I should have to "pay to play" or kiss anyone's **** so that I can post political commentary (some of which I may agree with; some of which I may not)

The vast majority of keyboard commando's havent' done anything remotely like that in their life. Just the nature of humanity in the faceless world where you don't have to back up your speech with actions. I've seen the hardest SOBs I ever knew crumble in front of fire and some guys you honestly thought would be crying little punks nut up and revel in the destruction of other human beings.

No one knows what they will do until faced with the moment, just the facts.

And free speech isn't really a thing when it's a business (like this forum). It's owned by someone and they get to dictate what is and isn't allowed. Similar to Facebook, Zuckerberg and his lefty army can silence any and all speech they disagree with and they do it frequently and with great vigor. The first amendment is a protection of your speech from being silenced by government, not by private enterprise. And hell I'm fine with that, people should be allowed to do what they want with a private business whether I agree with it or not because I also have the freedom to choose to shop/post/eat there or not. The free market then weeds out what is and isn't acceptable.

Back in the days of USENET, the Internet was a pretty good place for freedom of speech. There was a lot of insult and profanity, but those who could win an argument carried sway. These web-based forums have allowed people to retreat into their corners and never be exposed to a differing opinion. Spending life in one's own echo chamber has caused us to lack the ability to respond to a differing opinion. When a differing opinion comes along, regardless of the political bent of the board, the board labels the dissenter a "troll," dogpiles on the dissenter, bans the person, and the intellectual cowards on the board feel all smug and satisfied, while having done nothing to refute the dissenting argument.

Just a bunch of far right loonies jerking each other off and patting themselves on the back in that area; will say or do anything to stick it to the lefties in spite of treading on conservative values. Why would anyone want to pay to participate otherwise?

OP, consider yourself lucky. It's nothing more than a thinly disguised Klan meeting.

Oh you poor whiners. It's pay to play to keep those people out that only post in the POD.
Everyone's welcome, you just have to be a paying member to access the POD.
It's seem only like minded people are in there because they were paying members and not cheap whiners.
With a paid membership comes perks, that's just one if you want to call it that.

For what it's worth, why is there even a political section on a HD forum? I can see maybe if it concerned helmet laws or any other motorcycle related legislation. But the internet is loaded with political outlets, why poison a bike forum with that ****?

Ohhhhh, I see. You must be one of those HDF members who reads every post across all sub forums of HDF. I can see why you would be upset by the POD.
