It does open a new tab, but closes down almost immediately. One more tidbit, it only happens in Chrome on my laptop (MacBook Pro). Chrome on my iPad amazon links work fine.

Same here, exactly.

i am also on a Mac using Chrome but can't replicate the same thing. Do you have any ad blocker plugins?

I use Adblock. I just disabled it and tried an Amazon link to help you diagnose the problem. Same deal, and new tab opens and immediately closes.

so weird, I don't know why i can't replicate it other than I am in Canada which likely alters things in ways I can't begin to understand.

Here's an odd one.... I run both adblock and adblock plus. I disabled them and tried the amazon link and it worked perfect. I then when back and reenabled both, still working perfect. Can no longer replicate.

I am running Chrome on a laptop with Windows 11 Pro. The Amazon links were opening in a new tab and closing immediately for me as well. I simply right clicked the Amazon link and chose "Copy link address". Then I pasted the address in a new tab and it opened fine. That works for me so I am not worrying about it any more.

BTW, I use Adblock Plus if that matters.

Very certain it's tied to Adblock for me. Tried it again this morning after a reboot. Amazon "new tab" kept closing. Disabled adblock, again worked perfect. I'll just copy and paste rather than disabling for the site.

it appears for people in the US, there is a page that loads in-between HDF and Amazon and this is wreaking havoc with ad blockers. I'm not sure this is something we can fix I'm afraid.
