How to disable E-Mail notifications?
Hi GalvTexGuy,
thanks for your kind suggestion.
There are plenty of "options" in that area; they seem a bit complicated to set up at first glance, but I'm confident I've made the right "clicks"...
Mike
PS Unfortunately, clicking through the options didn't work; the notifications are still coming in...
But I'll wait and see how things develop.

1. Enter User Control Panel
2. Click Edit Options
3. Uncheck all circled areas and make appropriate selection (see picture below)
""" Disregard the fact that I have some of the selections checked
*** They should be UNchecked so you don't receive emails
4. Scroll all the way to the bottom and click on "Save Changes"
THEN
1. Below 'Edit Options', click on 'Edit Email Subscriptions'
2. Disable 'Receive Email From Administrators'
3. At the bottom center, in the 'Subscription Emails' box, click 'Deselect All'
4. Then click on 'Update Email Subscriptions'
This should stop ALL emails from HDF.
My sincere thanks to you all!
It's difficult to explain, but my old Google account started acting up in conjunction with my Thunderbird email account a few days prior.
I completely deleted Thunderbird Mail and then replaced it with the German free version of the software eM Client.

My mistake was messing around with the options in my Google account while drunk, and these options are very complex; it's better to keep your hands off such a data-collecting behemoth, or you'll fall into the clutches of such a monster.
The topic is extremely confusing, the options are opaque, as a Windows user you should steer clear of it!

PS On one of my very old Lenovo notebooks, I'm running a very old Linux operating system as a kind of backup. It doesn't need any updates, it doesn't give me any trouble, nothing is monitored online, it simply runs completely without problems, but that's just a side note...

Hi Goose_NC,
You can laugh at such an "idiot" if you like, but in previous years I regularly earned good money by helping these users get on their feet...
But all that is decades ago, so long ago, and certainly no longer true, Windows 3.0... An "Internet" was known, but unaffordable; every minute cost a fortune. "Multimedia" was an illusion; videos; only the kicking bear and the flying banana in the space station...
