Why can't I post in classifieds? Activation possibly?

If I'm not mistaken, it's not just your post count that counts...they have to have some level of content. I've seen your litter you've left around the forum...posts like that just to get into the classifieds are frowned upon here.

 

IIRC you need 30 posts

 

sorry outstanding hdf member (tequilajohn), i just have never heard of earning your way in to post classifieds before. i thought that having a harley was good enough (hence the harley owners forums) but i guess not. why in the heck would any forum make you posts just to use the classifieds?

It's so people don't come here JUST to plaster the site with classifieds. It's a free site, a few simple rules beats having to pay to use the site........

 

And by the way, if you'd have read the rules, you would have known the answer. There's also a time limit in addition to the post count.

Also kind of protects the members from getting burned. If someone sticks around to gain 30 posts, they are usually not someone just trying to make a quick buck at someone elses expense. Not that people with thousands of posts are incapable of maybe selling a aprt they don't have, but it is rare.

Another site that I moderate has a 30 post minimum and a 5 dollar "fee" to help offset the cost of running the site. At least it's free here
