Do You Replace Brake Fluid?
My dad has owned gas stations since I'm 7. Thats a half a century come next week. We never changed brake fluid, and I never once remember a car having a problem. I'm listening to a law abiding biker podcast that you should test brake fluid, or replace every 3 years. That it collects more moisture. Not sure how - my bike gets far less rain than my car does. Do you change your Brake fluid?

Yes every 2 years give or take a month or two. Cars have a much larger system so it doesnt cause as many problems like the one plaguing some older 08-12 abs harleys. And yes the fluid still maters even though its caused by a crap design in the way the abs functions. That 2 years number is for my non abs bikes as well because as much as its a closed system, moisture will find a way in and ruin it.
another fun fact is that most manufacturers call to change the rubber brake lines at 4 years.

It's been beaten to death! Check the service schedule in the owners manual, for any car or bike. I've been servicing both types for longer than your Dad and changing brake fluid (plus clutch fluid where applicable) was one of the very first things I learned.

The two year change is consistent with what Honda is recommending as they had a major recall (from 2001-2012 I think) on gold wings due to the rear brake gradually being applied to the point of stalling the bike up while riding. Only way to move bike was open bleeder valve. People didn’t change brake fluid and I think the rear or sub master cylinder wouldn’t release pressure due to corrosion I have no idea what a sub master cylinder is. So Honda now says 2 years. There’s is a crazy system to bleed properly
