Default Sintered brake pads or organic?

Will sintered last longer or will it eat up rotor instead of wearing brake pads?

No idea! I currently use aftermarket rotors and the same brand pads - EBC. What are you currently using?

Stock as far as i know. 5th year of owning bike, but first time i replace anything on brakes.I have EBC sintered pads and Ive got to order a new front rotor, its well below min. thickness. I didnt know if they squealed or outlasted rotor which is much more $$ than replacing pads.

Thumbs up

EBC is a good choice IMHO! I have their rotors and pads front and rear.

I can't claim to have founded HOG, but I am one of the members who joined during its first year of 1983. My original 'eagle' HOG badge is actually dated 1982, when I assume they started preparations to launch it.

To be honest I haven't done a high mileage on my EBC brakes yet, but they work just fine and also look good!

Sintered pads will wear the discs a little quicker but provide more bite than organic pads.

the originals on my sport were sintered, tried organic and were quieter but you could tell stopping was diff especially when wet, now back to sintered.

I've gone to organic and will never go back to sintered. This is based solely upon my personal preference as to the way my brakes feel when applied. Sintered feel, initially at least, more responsive and "grabby". Organic pads are less grabby requiring more initial hand pressure but then managing braking / stopping distance by modulating hand pressure seems easier with the organic pads installed. One type of pad will work as well as the other during emergency stops as the additional pressure required with the organic pads isn't by any means extreme. I just like the braking control organic pads seem to impart to day to day riding.

I've read claims that organic pads are less prone to "fade" under extreme use but can't attest to this. I don't ride extreme.
