Default Front brake pull distance changes on it's own

I have a 2012 Heritage my front brake travel will change on it's own all with in a single ride. I have changed the brake fluid so it's ok. I will be riding along the brake travel is normal then for no apparent reason I will apply the front brake and there will be no play. The front brake is not rubbing but the travel will change to no play at all. Then in a while the travel will change again. I just don't get it. Anyone have a clue what could be going on? I am baffled. I have ridden a Heritage since 1991 and owned 3 this is the first time I have had this issue. Thank you in advance.

There are 2 holes in the master cylinder, the one closest to the hose is likely plugged. Another possibility is that you might have something from keeping the brake lever from releasing all the way.

Like Max said (I think that what he meant) any thing that will keep the brakes even slightly applied will generate enough enough heat to create a different feel in the lever or even the pedal.
May not be real noticeable in heat or smell.
Had a complaint awhile back similar to yours.
Tracked it down using a infra red temp sensor on the rotors
There was just enough heat transfer in the pads to affect the brake fluid.

It was areal dirty M/cyl and fluid combo.
