Default hand adjustable shocks on 2013 SG

I just installed a set of the shocks with the adjusting that only one shock has. Obviously the orientation of that shock is fixed. it can only go on left side with the know at the top. When installing the other side, the only way it fits is by flipping it...meaning the shaft that goes into the piston is reverse from the left side. If it flip it so both shafts are coming from the same direction, the non- adjusting **** side doesn't fit. Is it correct that the 2 shocks would mount in the opposite way?

It shouldn't make a difference how the right side shock is orientated. From the factory, the right shock is mounted with the rod up. Certain accessories that utilize the four point docking system require the shock to be flipped (rod down).
