Default 1989 flh swing arm fat tire?

I purchased a 1989 flh frame I want put a 160 to 200 tire on it. Can I do it with a stock swing arm? Can I put a newer swing arm on it? Does anyone know my options? Help

You cannot put a 160 on the stock width wheel. More like you shouldn't. A 150 is about maximum. After that you are definitely into wide tire conversion territory. Since you are only at the frame stage, jump into it all the way and grab a 180/200 tire conversion kit. They require and come with a new swingarm.

I just fitted a 140 on the rear of my 1990 FLHS. There is now only 3/16 inch clearance between belt and tyre and I removed the rubber curtain off the belt guard to get it in. There is also not too much clearance with the rear fender, so I guess for a really wide tyre you will need to make a fresh start with much of the rear end!
