Default How to fix chrome peeling off?

There's a spot on the engine of my bike where the chrome plating has started to peel off due to heat or something..
And it's not the head either, it's right below it.

Is there anything that could be done? Right now I'd prefer not to remove the whole engine and take it to a professional to be re-chromed..

How about a picture of what you are talking about so we can see where it is.

Get some epoxy that is heat resistant, and cover the edges of the chrome, and where it has peeled , it won't fix it , but it will keep it from getting worse.

Here's a pic of the problem. My explanation might have been bad but I hope this helps.

Chrome likes to be clean, it will pit and corrode underneath if it's not. That could be re chromed or just replace it. Fwiw
