Default 1st road trip planned out

So I need to break the OL in gently with her 1st long trip so have planned out a gentle 4 day ride that is around 900km ( thats about 560 'Murica Freedom Miles for those of you in the Colonies )

No more than 3 or 4 hours in the saddle each day. Bike is 15 SGS

Day 1 - leave home and head down into the Austrian Lakes. Motel stop in the Lakes.
Day 2 - through the Alps and Lakes, up to Hitlers Nest in Berchtesgarden. Hotel stop in Salzburg
Day 3 - Start heading north back to Czech Republic making sure we pass through Austria to get a photo of the town sign. Cross the border and overnight in the Sumava Mountains National Park, Czech Republic
Day 4 - short 90 minute ride home through Southern Bohemia

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/Do...4969!3e0?hl=en

Should be a good 4 days and break her in gently for Austria, Italy and Slovenia in the summer.

Bring it on.

Sounds like a wonderful ride. Blows my mind that you can go on a 900km ride and go through several different countries. If I ride 900km I am only halfway to the capital city of my home state.
Have fun!

And that's what blows my mind. That and the facts hat you have those really spicy chilli potato chips.
Joy of living in Czech Republic (apart from a large glass of beer costing around 80c ) is that as it is smack bang centre of Lil' Ol' Europe we are a days ride to Venice, 4 hours from Berlin, 2 hours to Austria, 3 hours to Switzerland etc etc etc.

OL went on the back of the SGS for the 1st time today. Last time she was on a bike was a scooter about 25 years ago. Worrying moment as to if she would like it or not but after an hour she was still loving it (helped that the sun was out and the weather glorious) and she is now looking forward to Austria.
And she says 'we can keep the bike' which is good because divorces are expensive

Well done. Yeah, it has always been a policy of mine to get bikes with comfortable back seats. Much easier to get the stamp of approval then.

Enjoy the ride and post some pics of that fabulous countryside over there..

Rode Italy a few years ago; would love to do Europe again someday; probably Croatia. So much natural beauty and history all together in close proximity. Don't hesitate to post a pic or two...
