Problem downshifting
Ok, so I just installed a lindby bar on my 08 dyna super glide and am having trouble downshifting now. I have the kuryakyn forward controls mounted on it and took them off putting the plate under the mounts for it in order to attatch the bar. There is no trouble with clearance or anything on them so it is not interfering with the brake or shifter in any way. However I noticed today on my ride back from work that the shifter doesn't seem to be resetting hard after downshifting to each gear like it used to. I can still downshift all the way to 2nd without having an issue but to get it to downshift to 1st I have to lift the shifter a bit until I feel it reset then I can shift it down into first. If I don't do that it just has free movement down with very little resistance. I'm thinking the tension needs to be adjusted but I am not sure how to do that or even if that is the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated
It shifts up freely and feels like it did before the install.. Downshifting is a little loose feeling. Not sure how else to describe it. It feels like it doesn't have that pop back for a reset when downshifting. Before I would shift down and feel the shifter pop back up when I took my foot off. Now it doesn't really feel like that and will just kind of slowly reset itself. Pretty much like there is not enough tension pulling back on the shifter. Drove it about 100 miles from Greensboro to Bragg after putting the lindby bar on and didn't have this problem. Just started this afternoon
Or a bent shift fork?

I use the kuryakyn forwards too, (9063) and have learned I have to get my foot out of it a bit for it to shift clean. It could be your boot is interfering with the shift lever movement. You might have to "extend" the peg a little so your boot is in a further out position.

Once you did this you changed the length, readjust the linkage and all will go away.
The manual doesn't give alot of detail. Just do a search and you will find more detailed explanations.
Edited to add:
Nothing is broken or bent just needs adjustment.
