OK, all you "Imitation" (see the ad copy) motorbike owners in Aus/NZ, you are forgiven and it's time for you to "move up" to a "Real Bike".

Of course this ad is just the typical, semi edgy, H-D Corporate copy. But for some non H-D owners it might have a negative effect and be taken as a bit insulting. That's probably not a good thing to do to a potential customer. And I wonder if Corporate would run this ad in the USA?

 

I think its funny. I give my brother-in-law a ration about his Victory not being a "real" bike all the time.

Lighten up! It's simply humorous and not offensive.

 

It's on the HD website so any of the people that have one of those sinful bikes are probably looking at Harleys anyway. The $ offer may be what it takes to bring them the rest of the way in. Most of the people that would be offended won't see it unless they get pointed to it by someone else and they wouldn't be shopping for a Harley but the offer could end up making them reconsider.

 

It's just advertising, I like the humor actually. Can't see how that would offend anyone.

I saw an ad for the Longhorn Steakhouse the other day. They claimed to have he best steak in town. Can you imagine how the folks over at The Outback Steakhouse must have felt?

 

The non Harley owners will just have to get over it.
