Default Thunder Monster Baffles

Anyone that has the ThunderMonster Baffles that does not like the way they sound?

I just put in a pair into my SEII's and I will not say how I like them untilI get other comments on them.

Maybe it is just me or my hearing.

They sound kinda harsh at first but after they get carboned up good they mellow out a lot but still plenty loud. The sound at idle is sure a lot better.

Good Luck

I love them. At first I thought they mellowed out at speed, however, I hear more alarms go off when cruising so I think it's the wind noise offsetting the sound. Great bang for the buck. Love the crack at first startup.

How would others comments impact how you may or may not like the sound of your new baffles on your bike? I guess you could say that I'm baffled by your reluctance to put forth your initial findings on them. I gather - based on your not divulging whether you like them or not (at this stage) - that they are not what you had initially expected? I've considered ordering a set for my V&H longshots. Still kind of up in the air about it though.

I tried them on my bike. Hated them.
I thought they sounded like a wide open pipe, which may be what some people are after, but not me.
I like loud, but not "bad" loud.. Definitely NOT better than the V&H baffles.
Not only did I lose power, but I found the sound harsh, tinny and rough.

I sold them for 25 bucks to a guy who after trying them, hated them too.

Different strokes for different folks.

Probably depends on what pipes you put em in, they go well with mine imo.

Tried them with factory head pipes and Samson Fishtails and they did not do $hit for me. I did get a free t-shirt with them that is cool. I sold mine to some guy in the UK who was happy with them.

The purpose of the Thunder baffles is to add a little back pressure. This is for people with drag pipes, thatwant to gain back some of the low to midrange power, they have lost by not running with baffles. They really aren't intended to quiet the exhaust much.

If you dont like the sound, then that is one thing. But I am sick and tired of people saying that they hinder your performance. They INCREASE your torque and Hp. It is a proven fact that you can see on their website. You dont like the sound, fine, but dont say they messed up your performance? That's just lame!
