Default Motorcycle Harbor Freight jack for Dyna

I bought a used 1500 lb. harbor freight jack. May need to modify to lift the wideglide like the youtube video of the MOD of the sears craftsman jack. Anyone else have any issue lifting the Dyna with this jack?

I have the Sears variety that I did the mod to. My understanding is that the HF version has same spacing and requires the same modification. Easiest $15 mod I've done so far.

depends on how long the rear shocks are. My old WG had shorter shocks when I first got it that required rolling the back tire up onto a piece of 2x6. After I put longer shocks on it that same piece of wood under the kickstand gave me enough room to get the jack under it without modifying the jack.

Same for me. Makes the bike much more stable because the lifting points are wider.

My bike originally came lowered (by the PO) and after I modified the jack I didn't have to get the bike any higher to get the jack under it.

I did the mod - same as the Sears jack. Took longer to buy parts than to put together. I went Grade 8 all around. Home Depot had all the goods though my local Ace has better selection. I don't know how my old yellow version of the jack compares to the newer ones but the thing is very stable with the Dyna.

To be clear - the mod was to clear the oil pan rather than to address any lowered bikes.

Mine was lowered by the po also, I wanted more travel in the rear so went to longer shocks, the jack clearance was a bonus.

Default Jack MOD

I did the modification to the jack and it worked fine. Just enough room to put a stand under the bike.

Wanted to check my cam chain tensioners. found that with 34,000 miles this it what they looked like. 1/3 worn.
