I was on Hwy 17 in Myrtle Beach this past week. A four lane divided highway with right turn lanes. I was in the turn lane and some guy, looking at his phone, walked right into the middle of my lane. I stopped about 25 feet from him and sat there for a few seconds until he noticed he almost got ran over. Not a single hint of emotion on his face and he just turned around and walked away looking at his phone again.

If there was a way, they'd find a way around it. And there's laws about texting and even using a phone in a moving vehicle. It's not enforced enough, difficult to enforce and the penalties amount to a speeding ticket. Even if it was the same as a DUI, it wouldn't stop them...it hasn't stop the drunk drivers!

4 people were arrested in O'Fallon MO for hanging around waiting for the Pokemon players to come by so they could rob them.
My cousins wife almost ran a kid over the other day because he walked straight out into the road in front of her car.
My brother saw a guy yesterday who walked into traffic, in front of a moving truck, never looked up from his phone. He started walking in circles in the road oblivious to the fact that he'd nearly been mowed down and the truck was waiting for him to move.
My brother works on a college campus and he says it's like the zombie apocalypse there, everyone shuffling around staring at their phones.

And the Darwin award goes to.....Two men walked off a cliff in Encinitas, California while playing Pokeman Go. Both had to be rescued.
Well...they are in competition with the guy in the Tesla that lost his head while he was watching a Harry Potter movie with the car in autopilot.

I think we will eventually see certain applications on phones disabled if the phone is moving. And tough sheit to any passengers. I'm amazed at the number of people I see driving while they are looking down at their phone. I try to observe the behaviour of anyone behind me, and will move out of the lane if they are following too close or not attentive.
