It seems like the Pokemon Go phenomena is spreading to the roadways as driver are attempting to play the new game while they are driving.

For those that don't know ( I didn't ), the game uses GPS to and leads you on a quest to find imaginary creatures. Most people walk around and find the things, but now people are driving and trying to find the things.

Keep your eyes open and stay safe out there!

 

I had a woman playing the game this morning on her way to work. I wasn't sure at first why she was holding the phone up in the air at first, then we both stopped at a traffic light side by side and bam, there was the answer.

Another method to distract drivers.

 

All this "preoccupied participation" crap is getting way out of hand

 

I wish we could send anonymous video and or Pics to the cop shop and then they would mail them citations like they do for red light camera's.

I know I got this individual on my helmet cam this morning.

 

I don't have a link, but heard on my news this morning some idiot wrecked his car by driving into a pole while playing.

 

Don't doubt that Greg ... saw reporter interviewing people who had walked into obstacles in downtown Detroit while playing.

 

Another category for the "Darwin Awards".

 

I was out to work with a co-worker and his family. When leaving, his daughter drove from the center turn lane, across two lanes to turn right.

I asked him about it this morning and he said she was play Pokemon Go. That is the reason that I thought to make this thread.

 

We have had police dispatched to location at 4am for suspicious activity, we have been warned not to shoot people in your yard at night until you are sure they are bad guys and not Poki Mon gamers.

This has been on the news and the police mind for about a week now.
