Default Help me quiet the little guy with the hammer

I have a 11 SE ultra with 110, after about 6 months I was hearing what I thought was top end noise. I was told from three different dealers it was normal to ride it, I have had bikes for years it's not normal. The bike was purchased new in 2010. In '13 I decided I wanted to put cams it and figured that would take care of the noise. cams were great but still had the noise. Started making more noise took it in to the shop turned out the compensator was out Replaced but the original noise still there. Before every one starts telling me it's a harley they all have top end noise, not like this. I've swapped bikes with friends and people I trust on trips the reaction is always the same sounds like it's coming apart. this winter I found an indy I trust and said lets fix it and go through it. We took 0.010 out with basically a stock piston, I ride this bike on trips and sometime can't get premium gas didn't want to put up with any knocking. new push rods and lifters, .006 run out on crank, while had it apart ported the heads, thought maybe exhaust leak so replaced gaskets, My indy said he had it back together and dynoed. He had a look on his face and said it runs great but I still have the noise. I love the bike But the little guy with the hammer is driving me nuts. My indy is at a loss and was thinking something on the outside checked motor mounts or anything that could be hitting under power. It is loudest under power, coasting it goes away, At 60mph in 6th with no pull It's real faint. I have 30k mile on it and love the bike it runs strong and I plan on keeping it. for a long time. My wife even tells me to turn up the radio so she don't have to listen to it. any ideas? Now that I have the motor built the way I want it I'm hoping for some simple fix that was overlooked.

Sounds like you did just about everything but the transmission... not sure what else it could possibly be.

sounds vaguely like lateral movement of rockers. i have had and corrected such a problem on a kraut bike - the noise sounded a little like piston slap, a little like a lose wrist pin... post #4 has my vote.

I am banking he is right. I was about to give up my bike until I installed this product. I now enjoy ridding all day.

Once you get the motor out of the frame, they are very easy to install
