Default Bell 500 in rain?

Anybody use a Bell 500 with a shield in the rain?
Does it work very well?
Im not talking about getting caught in a shower on a bar hop but multi day all day rain.
I have a 500 and like the helmet but usually take my Shoei FF on trips in case of rain but would like to stop carrying so much.

I have a Bell 500. In rain I use goggles. Don't flip them on top when you don't need them. My first pair flew off in Illinois.
This isn't my brand, but they're similar to these:

I've done a 3/4 helmet with snap-on bubble shield in the rain. I'd classify it as OK, better than nothing, but not great. Not nearly as good as a FF, but way better than bare faced.

OP: about your signature: my brother in law has one on the back of his car that shows a T-Rex eating a stick family and it says "Your stick figure family was delicious."

I have a 500 and use a face shield in the rain. Definitely not as good as a full face. Biggest problem is the rain hitting your chest and bouncing up INSIDE the shield. Also doesn't keep the chill off if it is a cold rain. I think I'm going to switch to a modular for my long trips and carry a half helmet for when it gets really hot.

I use a 3/4 Shoei with a snap on shield in the rain. Much better than FF because ventilation is better and fogging up doesn't occur.

Been in the rain with my 500 and a face shield a few times. Not bad for what it is. Doesn't stop as much water as a FF, but I don't mind. And you can take the face shield off if you feel like feeling the wind in your face.

Unless you like a face full of asphalt during a crash, stick to a full faced helmet.

I rode with a FF for 9 years. I find it much more enjoyable riding with a 3/4 helmet.
Yes , I am more vulnerable to trauma. But when it comes down to it, if you want to be safe buy a Volvo. Your comment is out of line.
