If you have the time, take the figure eight grand loop through the park. Yellowstone is a one in a million place and you shouldn't short change yourself.

Hope you have some time. A lot to see and do. Go into Yellowstone via the Beartooth Highway. Hard to find a more scenic road.

ditto for beartooth, couple of years ago we entered from Jackson/Teton NP and exited via beartooth on to Cody. Great ride

halfway between the two routes... on the back of a bull moose, whilst wrangling a large herd of buffalo...

Oh wait

I think that might've been a dream

never mind, do what those guys said above

From past experience I can recommend late spring before the summer vacation crowds or early fall after the aforementioned crowds.

If that's not possible, may I suggest a comfy jet window at 35,000 feet with a drink in your hand.

Here's a great article on seeing Yellowstone from someone who lives there.

Hope this helps.

Don't short change a great experience. At least do one day on the ring of fire loop. Then do the upper loop.

Yellowstone is a great ride, haven't been there for about 25 years, am thinking of there or Yosemite in mid September when some of the crowds are gone.
