Anyone a member of H.O.G.?

Give us the low down, is it worth it? What are the benefits?

I got for free and used the towing so I'd have to say it was worth it.

I guess It depends. I've been a member since 1988. At times I've been really active in our local chapter, the past 10-15 years, not so much. Like any organization, what you get out of it is directly proportional to what you're willing to put into it.

I am a member because I had to join to join the local HOG chapter. The wife and I like the people and the numerous functions. Is it worth it? The mag is ok but I could do without it.

it seems to me that most of the chapters around here are kind of clickie. everyone wants to be the leader and they turn their nose up at some people. not my cup of tea, if you know what i mean. not really a club in my book.

I belong to my local chapter. I've met a lot of good people there. They ride a lot. I like it.
Where I used to live, They were very clicky. It wasn't that much fun. So like everything else, it depends on the people.

I've been a Life Member since the late 80's and agree with others here that it all depends on how active your chapter is and what you are willing to contribute. I've enjoyed it for the most part, but have noticed the age of the typical members I've run into seem to be getting "older"...like me!

Yes because the dealership gives 10% discount any day and at certain times 20%, plus I ride with the HOG group, go to meetings and I'm a Road Captain.

My dealer already gives me a 10-15% military discount and I have towing through USAA so I only had the free membership included with the bike. I threw the renewal letter in the garbage. No interest in riding in a group from restaurant to restaurant or dealership to dealership.
