Gettin old, but undaunted
I mean I am UNDAUNTED
Went on 130 mile ride Sat. My bike has a toe/heel shifter. It makes it so all shifts up or down can be done in a downward motion.
A toe shifter goes up and down and is hard on toes, shoes and boots when up shifting.
When up shifting I'm using my heel downward. It requires a movement of my leg up and back to slide the up lifted heel onto the shifter. (the front of my foot stays on the floor board)
MY LEFT LEG WAS SO SORE I couldn't have gone another mile. As in muscles not usually used. Was better the next day but still felt it.
Lifting the legs off the ground from red lights aggravated the same muscles in both legs.
I guess I need to go into training for next season. if I ride enough, my left upper thigh will look like Popeye's forearms.

It's a friggin motorcycle gearbox - not a weight gym.

The guys I train with (martial arts) go pretty hard. There have been more than a few sessions where i left crippled. That heel shifter can be a Godsend.

My corn in the microwave should be ready any minute now.
That is short, sweet and to the point. Next thread please!
