I heard that HD cancels your powertrain warranty if you put 'slip ons' the new 2017 models. What's this all about?

Call around to different dealerships and see what kinda answers you get.

 

Call Harley Davidson customer Service and advise them that you are doing a report for your 8th grade English class, they'll be happy to help you out.

 

Only flashing the ECM with a non-EPA compliant tuner voids the warranty. And yes it records it.

 

Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. They can tell you all kinds of things about your warranty, but unless they can prove your mufflers caused whatever damage they're repairing, HD can't void your warranty.

 

You are correct but the new warranty says if you change to a new non epa tune it voids your power train warranty . That's how they are getting around the act. Talked to my local dealer last week . They will still dyno tune any bike. They are now using the power vision tuner to tune bikes now. The will dyno tune a 2017 for you but he flat out told me it will void your power train warranty .

While that's true, if the mufflers make them non-EPA compliant, that is sufficient "damage" to make the act not applicable.
