Default passing lamp lens cleaning?

2012 Deluxe. My passing lamps look cloudy when on.I tried to get the glass lens off and clean them but couldn't get it out.Is this even possible and if so how? I tried prying on it but nothing was moving and I didn't want to f--k it up.

Aren't they sealed beam? I reckon gasses from the filament have clouded up the reflector. I think they are pretty cheap, you don't need to go to HD to buy them. Take a look at a Wagner 4415.

No, they are halogen bulbs.

The service manager at the local HD dealership gave me a recommendation years ago when that cloudy appearance starts. He said to simply remove the bulb & wiring from the rear of the lamp you wish to clean (headlight or passing). Pour a small amount of isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) through the opening in the back. Gently swish the solution around for a few minutes, turn the unit upside down and drain out the fluid. Allow about an hour or so for the remaining alcohol to evaporate and then reinstall the harness/bulb/wiring back in.

I have used this technique when I had my 2004 Low Rider and used it again with my newer 2014 SGS. Works like a charm every time.

Good luck.

I use the 14 step method:

1) remove light housing from bike
2) remove the bulb from of the light housing
3) tape a small piece of terry cloth on the eraser end of a pencil
4) spray the cloth with Windex
5) insert the clothed windex soaked pencil into the light housing
6) swirl the pencil around in a clockwise direction
7) reverse direction and swirl the pencil around in a counter-clockwise direction
8) once lens is clean, remove pencil
9) re-install bulb into the light housing
10) re-install light housing on bike
11) wait until dark to take bike out on a ride
12) ride bike to nearest bar
13) drink a beer to celebrate your accomplishment in cleaning your lens

After the alcohol use a air hose to dry them out.
