So Im hooked.
Well, its been about 4 days since I got my Motorcycle permit and I can say without a doubt that I LOVE riding! It has been the most amzing and exhilirating experince Ive ever had. This is my first time riding anything other than my friend's Magna around the block a couple of years ago, but that bike has nothing on mine.
I live in Tucson and I have started to discover all the great riding roads that it has to offer and, well, Tucson doesnt seem so boring now!
If any of you guys are from Tucson, would any of you be able to recommend any good places to ride?
Its funny, 2 Fridays ago I stopped by the HD dealer after they closed and drooled at all the bikes behind the glass. The next Friday I was riding by the dealer and it struck me as ironic. Dunno why I didnt do this sooner!

Welcome from Tucson East Side. Catalina highway is my daily, morning ride. I don'tnecessarily go to the top each day but, weather aside, that's where I'll be each morning. Go down 83 towards Sanoita and it's pretty. Go over N.E. of Safford to Morenci and head up to the mountains. The more I think about it I could go on and on and would probably end upnameing all the spots on the map. I usually pack up once every month or two and take off for 3-4 days. There's something different and of interest in all directions.

Thanks for the tips. A buddy and I were supposed to ride Mt. Lemmon, but he could find a bike to go, but hell, I may just go myself! Last night I went with my roomate (he drove) to visit a friend who was at his parents house in the 49ers development. From where I am (just north of the U of A) it was a great ride. Took River east untill it turned into Alvernon, shot over to grant and kept going until we hit Tanque Verde, and took that all the way out there. Was a trip going through all the thermal pockets; amazing how well all the concrete and stuff in the city will keep the heat in!
Ahh.. F it. Im going to ride Lemmon today! Ill take some pics and post them when I get back!
thanks for the tips whaap. If I see another bike, Ill be sure to wave.

If you haven't already, you might want to consider the MSF Basic Rider Course followed by the Experienced Rider Course. You'll learn a lot from both, and you'll be intimately familiar with your particular bike after the ERC, i.e. how it brakes, skids, corners, turns, swerves, etc.
That kind of knowledge is priceless.
Best of luck & enjoy the ride!

Im definitley going to take the Riders Edge course, just gotta save up for it. My dad is going to help me out a little as my birthday is coming up.
The ride up the mountain today was amazing! Been up and down a bunch to go camping, but never had the pleasure on a bike until today! Was really amazing seeing all the scenery and seeing the vegetation coming back strong after the fires from a few years ago. Got some pizza and a coke up in summerhaven and rode on down. Amazing that not more than 25 miles from Tucson is a place that 70 degrees, sunny and amazingly beautiful. I think Im making it a weekend tradition now.
Thanks for all the advice from everyone!
