Went to dealership today, but didn't realize they can't sell motorcycles on Sundays.
I would prefer a new bike and definitely want to purchase from the dealer. They have a used 2016 forty-eight, that I will inquire about.
If you are 100% sure you want to purchase new and from a dealer than that is a personal choice. However, the model you are looking at is one that is very often purchased new and traded within a year and many times with less than 2,000 miles on them. If you look around you can probably buy a garage kept 883 with hardly any miles on it for under $5,000.
90% of MSRP for the OTD price. Currently, you can likely do better then this old standby.
Really? 90% of MSRP OTD? Wow, is this really doable?

800 Sportster is considered a girls bike. For 8k you can buy pretty good Road King, Dyna or Softail.
If this is your first bike, do yourself a favor and buy Intruder or Vulcan 800-750 for 2000.
This is my second bike and first Harley. 1st bike was 15 years ago and a sport bike.
Nice looking ride there Chief! Enjoy your new bike and remember to ride safe! If you haven't taken a motorcycle ride training program yet......do so. It'll be the best add on that you can invest in!
