Just a curiosity question, I've traded 3 bikes in all to upgrade models except my last trade was a lateral move from a 2011 FLHX to a 2016 FLHXS.


What was your last move? Did you move up in the model lineup? Did you move down to a smaller bike or a model you enjoyed previously? or did you trade in another bike to finally get a Harley?

 

Came back to Harley after about 10 years away trying other bikes. I traded in a 2016 Triumph Tiger to get on a 2016 Ultra Limited. I kind of figure I broke even on the deal, lost money on the Triumph, but got a good deal on the Ultra.

 

2015 Street Bob (stolen after 6 months)
Then, went to a 2016 Road Glide (totaled after 13 days)
Couple months later got my 2017 Low Rider S.

Moved up, then back down. I probably didn't ride my Road Glide enough to compare, but I prefer the nimbleness of my Low Rider S.

 

I sell outright. I don't take the trade in hit.

 

I don't know, I haven't traded in my last bike yet.

 

Sold my Suzuki c90 privately and bought my 03 Superglide privately. Can't afford to pay 'stealer' prices !...b.

 

My only trade-in was when I used the "guaranteed price" trade in for my '86 Sportster for my '88 FXR. Always did private sales on my other bikes.

 

Just traded in my 2013 Victory CCT for a 2017 Ultra Limited.

(Thanks, Polaris, for screwing us!! Didn't want to get stuck with an unsupported,
plummetting-value bike. Riding cross country on a bike that has no more dealers is a dicey
proposition.)

Loved the CCT, but REALLY love the Ultra Limited!

 

No trade. Got cash for a crotch rocket that scared the hell out of me and killed my back, then went without a bike for a few years. That frikking Honda 1000 I had could do 90mph in second gear...never tried it. Those things are like riding a lightening bolt. Whew!

 

'06 Night Train for a '16 Road Glide Special. Hated myself at first. Really hated my decision. Now that I have the RGS all set up how I want it, I couldn't go back. (At least not permanently)
