Default 16 pro street breakout getting too hot

i have a 16 pro street breakout. It has the factory screamin eagle air cone and rinehart slip ons that I had powdercoated black to look stock. Anyways I took it for the longest ride since I had it yesterday. The powdercoat is starting to blister on the pipes already after 100 miles! People say that it will stay on your pipes no problem unless it's running hot. Should I get a fuelpak or something for this issue. Or could it be just the powdercoat?

Yes when you upgrade anything on your engine either the air intake exhaust or both you need to remap the engine with a tuner

Agree with above. You got them powder coated? Not ceramic coated?

What the guys above said... If you got it POWDERcoated then the blistering is to be expected. Powdercoating doesn't work well on exhaust. That's why they ceramic coat exhausts due to the heat.

Yep. Assuming they used standard powdercoat. Which they probably did. There is, however, high temp powdercoat available that might be suitable for exhaust heat shields, at least. I don't know how it would work applied directly to exhausts, though. It's used on charcoal grills, so it could possibly work.

If you want it gloss black, it has to be Cericoated. It's a two step process, ceramic coating with a gloss clear over it, it could double the cost of your exhaust. You definitely want to remap the computer, stock map is to lean for emissions BS. Before you spend the money on the Fuelpack, be sure you know how far you will be going with the engine mods. If you doing exhaust, intake and maybe a cam it's fine, if your going beyond that at some point, get a Powervision. Expensive mistake, trust me.

nothing wrong with being cheap.... I went the same way you did, looked good for a couple of years, until I put a 2-1 on it...

A local harley shop has all their mufflers done at a local powder coat shop in my town. Said they never had any issues if tuned right it won't run hot enough to burn. It wasn't to bad of blistering. I wet sanded the powder coat and polished looks new again. Just hoping the tuner will cool it down so it won't happen again.

Are you sure he just powder coated? And didn't use the hi temp ceramic? The process to apply is the same. I made the mistake of getting some pipes powder coated rather than the ceramic coating... I got to do it a second time with the right stuff and it cost more because the powder coating was a bitch to remove.
