Wife wears one , same helmet as my HD one. She purchased the HJC because they had one in white. Because it was cooler. Works well.

I had an hjc. Didnt like it at all. Try it on first then go from there. I strongly recommend checking for an arai on someones clearance page. Way better helmet for not alot more price if you can find one you like on clearance

Ok I will.
In my travels, I did happen to try on an HD helmet.
The Capstone modular in XL. It fit my head PERFECT
(with my sunglasses on)

I'm wondering which HJC is most similar as far as shape,
padding etc.

I will look at those other brands as well

thanks again

Love my IS2 MAX, with retractable sun shade. I love being able to open it up when I feel like it.
Way easier to get on/off too since the sides, with the face shield up, is a bit flexible.

Mine is an XL but I had to buy thinner cheek pads since the ones it came with were too tight.
Perfect fit now.

Thinking of upgrading to an Arai or Shoei since they are quieter and lighter.

The IS-MAX 2 is the HJC equivalent. Everything is identical (except for decals).

I just got one of these helmets for when the weather's colder to replace my Shoei which was over 20 years old. Would have bought another Shoei but didn't want to spend the money since I don't wear a full face helmet that much since I usually wear my half helmet which I prefer over full-face. My initial impression is that the helmet is good but not great. The only real complaint is that it tends to fog up pretty easily and I haven't got the ear speakers from the 'Boom! Audio Full Helmet Premium Music and Communications Headset' to fit well.

Just me, but nothing less that a full face.... I just don't want a handle bar, a mirror or anything else crushing in my head, trashing my jaw Etc. A modular being 2 piece could possibly fail in an impact and open.. I've always used full face helmets for dirt race cars and off roading in side by sides and ATV's so totally used to it with 0 issues. I've been upside down in all and have stayed in 1 piece so far.

Nope. You need to try on the helmet before you buy. Each manufacturer has their own concept of size and shape.
