100 new models and most likely not one that I'd want to part with my bike to have.

That's about it, right there.

Or at least you could say they haven't had any luck selling anything else.

I suppose the Sportster might count?

The thing I find odd is how it seems like everyone sqys they want new models with new technology... But then they hate those models (Vrod, Street) when the MoCo actually makes them.

Which is it?

The whole 50 or 100 new models thing baffles me. I don't understand who they think is going to be impressed by that. Almost feels like they are trying to talk up their stock price.

No just an observation...

If you put an Chevy fuel injected LS engine in a 68 Camaro is it a new model? NO it is the same thing with a new motor stuck in it.

Yep that's the only thing that makes sense to me. As clearly none of the existing Harley owners are buying that number and anyone that doesn't already have a Harley but wants one doesn't care how many they are coming out with in the next 10 years just as long as they have the model that he will buy now! So investors are the only people that could get impressed by that number. I agree, they must be talking their share price up...

Sounds like you should trade the Sporty for a Honda.

That investor marketing stock thing rings true.

Me, I would prefer the company advertised that they plan to have
ONE new model in the next ten years. That would make me pay attention.

if they take a dyna fxdl, and put a new motor in it, and keep the fxdl mo****r, then it isn't a new model. but if they make some sort of change which changes the alphabet soup, then they are going to consider it a new model.

just like when they took the fltr and put shorter shocks on it and called it an fltrx. new model.

so if they are expecting 100 new models in a decade, then prepare for some major confusion among the masses. 'I got me a new fltrxse3m821s'.... (that's a screamin eagle 3 road glide custom with m8 engine, 2-1 exhaust, blacked out in case you wondered)
