Default s & s super e enricher problems

I like to ride in single digit weather, but bike does not start well. When I pull up the enricher lever with engine running, the bike drops dead. Won't start again until lever is fully down. I dropped the bowl, and blew compressed air through the orifice for the enrichment valve, but still no change. Bike runs perfect when running,

OK, I'll bite, Why are you pulling the enricher up while bike is running?

Your air filter is dirty.
But, maybe this will help...

I pull mine up, fire bike off then drop it fully closed about 5-10 seconds later, engine picks up a nice idle and all is well. The longer you leave the enrichener open you'll foul plugs etc.

Yes just use it to fire your engine up, then close it and use the throttle lock to keep your engine running until it warms up.

I pull the lever up to simulate a warm up condition. I can hear the increased air coming through the venturi, but it just is not getting enough fuel to run. Bike starts/runs great year round, but in really cold, it needs a little extra. Air filter new, spark plugs ideal coloring, not running rich, or lean

I cannot use the enricher to fire the bike up is problem. Not trying to warm up. Year round, I give two twists, and its running in .5 seconds, but in cold weather, I need the enricher.

I thought that s&s used a choke plate not an enricher. a choke plate restricts air, and an enricher is a bigger jet or passage to give more gas. but what do I know s&s might have updated the carb sence I had one.

Yeah, they got accelerator pumps now too. They didn't used to, and you had to roll the throttle, snapping it would make it sputter.

NO tickler on the carb at all! what I wanted to ask is how his enricher was working if it shuts off the air to the point it kills the bike, and how do you adjust it, if it opens a passage or jet to more fuel is it allowin the fuel to pass or blocked and no fuel kills the bike, or allowin too much fuel and killin the bike. as I don't know any thing about a s&s carb with an enricher. and would like to.
