Opinion: There is no good price on a Street 500. It is the smallest of the Street line and next to impossible to re-sell.

If you are looking for a Harley there are any number of better choices, if you are looking for a 500cc size bike, virtually anything from Kawasaki, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki is far superior to the Street.

agreed. My first bike was a vt500c. Paid ~1000 for it. Sold it for the same. No $ lost and skills gained. Win win

An early welcome to the Forums and hopefully you decide to buy the XG500. I bet you did some homework on it or else you would be on a different forum. If you like the bike then you should buy it and don't worry about resale as bikes should not be treated as an investment. I would advise you to Google it and read comments from those that actually own one and see if there are common problems, etc., and then decide if you still want it. If all goes I look forward to your post in the New Members Area thread!

Going rate for 2015-16 750s is about half of MSRP. I would assume the same for 500s. If you can get that kind of price go for it, otherwise look at other options.

I haven't seen a Street 500 except at HD basic rider courses. I would steer away if the bike was used as a trainer.
