Default Milwaukee Iron loses Gary Woodford

I don't know how many of you follow the series "Southern Steel" that is patterened much like OCC. It's about our local motorcycle builders/customizers here in Lyncbhurg - Milwaukee Iron. They are all home-grown boys who worked hard over the years as business success began knocking on their door. First they began selling fenders and parts to other custom builders - like OCC for example. Soon after, their own custom work began to be noticed.

Anyway, Gary Woodford was the artistic design source for much of the custom work. Gary left us the other week. He died unexpectedly. I'm sure his absence will be strongly felt over at Milwaukee Iron and I for one will miss his homespun ways. I did not know him personally, but did enjoy watching him on Southern Steel.

I understand that a memorial weekend is planned for Gary here in Lynchburg either this weekend or next - I'm unclear on the date. However, a few of the big-name builders are said to be coming - like Kendall Johnson and Mondo to name two.

If anyone posted this previously, I'm sorry for repeating it. I did a search and didn't see anything.

We have lost a true artist. I only knew him through watching the show but he sure could turn raw metal into pieces of art. He also seemed like a genuinely nice guy. He will be missed.

I only watched their show a few times, and I really liked Gary. I wonder if he is riding with Indian Larry right now? That would make an awesome pair to ride with in my book.

I am definately not a fan of the chopper reality TV shows, in part because most of those characters seem like self absorbed tool weilding apes. The exception was Gary Woodford. I did not know him personally but he seemed like a truly talented individual, and a really nice guy. I really enjoyed watching him on that show. Such a shame.
